Spotify

Submit your show's RSS feed to Spotify to reach listeners on the world's largest audio streaming platform. Spotify is the second-largest podcast platform after Apple Podcasts.

Why Spotify

Spotify has hundreds of millions of active users across mobile, desktop, car, and smart speaker platforms. Listing your show on Spotify puts it alongside music and other podcasts in a single app that many listeners already use daily.

Before you submit

Make sure your show is ready:

  • Show has episodes — At least one published episode
  • Show has artwork — Square image, ideally 3000 × 3000px
  • Show has a description — A clear paragraph about the show
  • RSS feed is working — Check by pasting your feed URL in a browser

How to submit

Step 1: Get your feed URL

  1. In the dashboard, go to the show you want to submit
  2. Find the RSS feed URL on the show detail page
  3. Copy it — e.g., https://rss.autopod.xyz/show/{show-id}.rss

Step 2: Go to Spotify for Podcasters

  1. Visit podcasters.spotify.com
  2. Sign in with your Spotify account (or create one — it's free)

Step 3: Submit your feed

  1. Click Get Started or Add your podcast
  2. Paste your RSS feed URL
  3. Spotify validates the feed
  4. Confirm your show details
  5. Submit

Step 4: Verification

Spotify may ask you to verify ownership of the feed. This is usually done by checking the email address in the feed (your admin email from Stream Settings).

Step 5: You're listed

Once verified, your show appears in Spotify search. New episodes are picked up automatically from your RSS feed.

After submission

Spotify polls your RSS feed regularly for new episodes. You don't need to manually add episodes — they appear automatically.

  • See episode performance

Tips

Submit individual shows, not your station feed

Like Apple Podcasts, submit the show-level RSS feed rather than the station-wide stream feed. Podcast listeners expect to subscribe to a specific programme, not an entire station.

Same feed, multiple directories

You can submit the same RSS feed URL to both Apple Podcasts and Spotify (and any other directory). They all read from the same feed independently.

Troubleshooting

Feed not accepted

  • Check that the feed URL returns valid XML when opened in a browser
  • Ensure at least one episode exists with an audio file
  • Verify the show has artwork (required by Spotify)

Episodes not appearing

  • Spotify typically picks up new episodes within a few hours
  • Check your feed directly to confirm the episode is included
  • Ensure the episode has a publication date in the past (future-dated episodes won't appear until their scheduled time)
