What is AutoPod?

AutoPod turns your live radio output into a professional on-demand catalogue — automatically.

The problem AutoPod solves

Radio stations produce hours of content every day. But turning that output into an organised, professional podcast catalogue takes time and effort that most stations don't have. Someone has to record each show, trim it, add metadata, upload it, and distribute it to multiple platforms.

AutoPod handles all of that automatically.

How it works in 30 seconds

  1. You set up your broadcast schedule in the AutoPod dashboard — which shows air when, on which days
  2. AutoPod monitors your audio stream and records it continuously
  3. When a show finishes, AutoPod uses the schedule to identify it, stitches together the right audio segments, and creates a complete episode with the show's title, artwork, and metadata
  4. The episode is distributed automatically to your player app, station website, podcast feeds, and any widgets you've embedded on your own site

That's it. Set it once, and every show is available on-demand within minutes of airing.

Who is AutoPod for?

AutoPod is a mature, established platform trusted by community, student, and commercial radio stations across the UK and beyond.

  • Community radio stations — small teams making great content who need a professional digital presence without technical overhead
  • Student radio stations — packed schedules with rotating presenters and an audience that expects to find content online
  • Commercial radio stations — reliable distribution, analytics for proving audience reach, and APIs for custom integrations
  • Hospital and specialist stations — organisations that want to extend their reach beyond the building

Two workflows

AutoPod supports both automated and manual content:

Schedule-driven automation — Set up your broadcast schedule and AutoPod does the rest. Every show is recorded, identified, stitched into an episode, and distributed automatically.

Manual upload — Upload audio directly for content that doesn't come from a live broadcast — interviews, pre-recorded specials, online exclusives. Uploaded content sits alongside automated episodes in the same catalogue.

Most stations use both. The automated pipeline handles the daily output, and manual uploads fill in the gaps.

The safety net: 60-day archive

AutoPod maintains a private rolling archive of your stream for 60 days. This means you can go back and create episodes retroactively — if you missed a schedule entry, forgot to add a show, or just want to publish something you didn't originally plan to.

The archive is not publicly accessible. It's your safety net.

tip

You can learn more about the archive in The 60-Day Archive.
