Your First Episode
How to verify that AutoPod is working and your first episode has been created.
Waiting for your first episode
Once you've set up at least one show and added it to the schedule, AutoPod will create your first episode automatically after that show next airs.
How long does it take? Episodes typically appear within a few minutes of a show finishing. The exact time depends on the show's duration — a 1-hour show takes longer to process than a 15-minute segment.
Checking your first episode
- Go to Episodes in the dashboard
- Look for an episode with your show's name and today's date
- Click on it to see the full details — title, show, duration, and a play button to preview
If you don't see an episode yet, check:
- Has the scheduled show actually finished airing? Episodes are created after the show ends, not while it's live.
- Is your stream connected? Check the stream status on the dashboard homepage.
- Is the show in the schedule? Double-check the schedule editor to make sure the show is assigned to the correct time slot.
See Episodes Not Appearing for more detailed troubleshooting.
What an episode contains
Each episode that AutoPod creates includes:
- Audio — an MP3 file stitched from the recorded audio segments
- Title — the show name plus the date and time (e.g., "The Breakfast Show - 2026-02-28 07:00:00")
- Show — linked to the show it belongs to, inheriting artwork and metadata
- Duration — the length of the episode
- Publication date — when the show aired
You can edit any of these details after the episode has been created.
Where your episode is available
Once an episode is created, it's automatically available through:
- Your Audio Player — listeners can browse and play it at your player URL
- Your Station Website — if you've set up AutoPod Sites, it appears on the show page
- RSS Feeds — your stream and show RSS feeds are updated within a couple of minutes
- Embeddable Widgets — any widgets you've embedded on your website will show the new episode
- Podcast Apps — listeners subscribed via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc. will receive it
